Electric star in fire risk recall - G-Wiz
The tiny G-WIZ electric car has been recalled amid fears of fire outbreaks. A fault with the charging unit means the hatchback could become engulfed in flames when plugged in for a refill. The Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) has issued a voluntary recall for 629 cars.
Meanwhile, G-Wiz are not the only small car maker suffering recall woes - a software glitch in the Peugeot 207 CC has forced the French firm to recall 2,022 of its models. The safety fault means the electric windows could operate for 45 seconds after the ignition is shut off. This may cause injuries and also contravenes anti-theft regulations.
