Korean giant up to fifth in world
Forget the Germans and Japanese: it’s Korean models that are in demand! Last year, Hyundai/Kia shifted 3,961,629 cars to become the world’s fifth best seller.
That’s according to statistics from the Automotive News Global Data Book, and compares to the marque’s ninth place in 2000. It puts it ahead of established firms such as Honda, Nissan and Chrysler, and just behind – in descending order – Toyota, GM, Volkswagen and Ford.
Meanwhile, Kia has launched two cool new special editions. The Picanto Chill (above) and Rio Chill start from £6,995 and £7,995 respectively. Each emits less than 120g/km of CO2, and gets air-con plus a range of exclusive new colours.
