Tiny sat-nav punches above its weight

AS with computers, watches and music systems, sat-navs are cramming more technology into smaller packages – and this new Navigon 2110 is no exception. But despite its small dimensions, it packs in a big 4.3-inch touchscreen.

The graphics used within the display were also pleasing to the eye – the design has orange against black and grey, which proved simple to read.

What’s more, Navigon’s Lane Assistant Pro feature came in handy when we hit some roadworks and had to hook up with the resulting diversion. The unit didn’t get flustered, re-routing efficiently. We also like the fact that users can toggle between the fastest way to their destination and a more scenic route. But the standard windscreen mount let it down. Although it is easy to attach to the screen, we fouled our knuckles on the unit when trying to tighten the angle. Still, this gripe aside, the Navigon is a compact, well built and attractive piece of kit.
