Underneath this all-in-one body suit is Fiat’s answer to the forthcoming VW Up! and Toyota iQ - it’s the Topolino inspired micro-car! Despite its tiny 3200mm platform, this elaborately disguised car, will offer enough seating room for four.
Still in the early stages of testing the new Fiat mini-car will share its platform with the Panda and have a strong resemblence to the 500.
The iQ is expected to be 3150mm long with the Up! 3400mm, so the feisty Fiat will certainly match its competitors for compactness. The structure of the new car will be made of tubular cells, and designed to offer high levels of protection to passengers in case of crashes.
It is scheduled to go into production in 2010 and there are also plans for an electric version to be designed alongside the standard models.
