2006 Panoz Esperante GTLM

Panoz Auto Development announces the latest variation of the world renowned Panoz Esperante. This new model, the Esperante GT-LM, takes the remarkably composed and refined touring version of the Esperante platform and gives it a decidedly more sporting tone. A new rear sub-frame, developed with technical partner Multimatic Inc. reduces mass while increasing stiffness and features a motor-sport oriented suspension geometry. The new rear control arms are fabricated, lightweight, tubular steel components bolted to aluminum uprights. The reduced un-sprung mass works in concert with the double isolated coil-over spring/shock assembly to increase performance while simultaneously improving NVH characteristics.

All of this careful attention to detail has yielded a finished weight of just 3,384 lbs, that makes much more of its 420 horsepower, 4-cam, 32 valve supercharged V-8. The result is a world class 8.06 power to weight ratio.

The Esperante GT-LM's aerodynamics have been improved with new long nose, long tail bumper fascias as well as more aggressive rocker panels. These components are complimented by the fixed carbon fiber hardtop and the subtle "duck tail" rear spoiler, all of which combines to significantly increase the GT-LM's aerodynamic downforce. Detail refinements include revised front and rear lighting along with custom front and rear grill work. The interior features new sport seats with more aggressive bolstering and a host of billet aluminum trim enhancements. The end result is a lighter, faster, stronger Esperante. Look for Panoz to build on its impressive motorsports heritage (the Esperante won the 2002 BF Goodrich Trans-Am Manufacturers Championship) as it takes on the GT class contenders in the American LeMans series and the 24 hours of LeMans with a race prepared variant of this car.

2006 Noble M15

Welcome to a new dawn for Noble Automotive, the launch of the all-new M15.

This machine represents a whole new philosophy and takes the core values of dynamic excellence, lightweight engineering, value-for-money and blistering performance to a whole new level of comfort, refinement and everyday usability.

At a cost of less than $130,000 the Noble M15 sits well above other cars in the Noble range. With 455 bhp and 455 lb-ft of torque, it's also the most powerful production car to leave the factory, capable of hitting 60 mph from standstill in an epic 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 185 mph. It is, therefore, a credible and more exclusive alternative to other supercars costing well in excess of $200,000.

Despite its destructive power, the Noble M15 remains one of the least intimidating supercars on the markets thanks to prodigious levels of grip and a forgiving chassis.

Drivetrain and Performance

The mid-mounted, twin-turbocharged V6 used in the M15 is the most powerful engine ever fitted to a road-going Noble and has been developed over seven years and millions of testing miles.

A sublime combination of low-end drivability and top end power, the latest version of Noble's engine delivers 455 bhp at 6800 rpm and 455 lb-ft of torque at 4850 rpm. And 96 percent of this power is available from 5200 rpm, making the M15 an effortlessly quick car.

The drivetrain is installed longitudinally for the first time in a Noble, increasing cooling and turbo performance dramatically. Weight distribution has also improved over the existing model to 42:58 percent front to rear, due to the engine and gearbox assembly being moved forward by 12 inches.

Noble M15's Exterior Design

The M15 boasts immense road presence, yet is only 7 inches longer and 1 inch wider that the M12 at 166.5 and 74.3 inches respectively. It remains a light machine at slightly more than 2700 lbs, lightweight engineering is a part of Noble's DNA.

Yet despite the M15's compact dimension, the M15 is a spacious, luxurious car with room for luggage, astonishing crash protection and a chassis that is significantly stiffer than any Noble before it. This is a luxurious sports car with dragon-slaying performance as standard.

Noble never puts form before function and a more efficient shape helps the M15 to its estimated top speed of 185 mph. More importantly, this and the huge diffuser that has proven itself in battle on the company race car, help plant the rear to the ground at speed.

Ride, Roadholding and Handling

Noble has developed a completely new platform for the M15, while retaining the M400's basic ingredients of double wishbone suspension all round. Bespoke, non-adjustable gas shock absorbers have been painstakingly developed to offer exceptional levels of high-speed body control, while spring rates have been chosen to provide a level of suppleness unheard of in the class.

An entirely new braking system, incorporating 330 mm ventilated discs and four-pot calipers all round, has been developed specifically for the M15.

The gearbox comes from Graziano, supplier to Aston martin, Ferrari and Maserati, and the Italian company have worked enthusiastically on a six-speed to extract every fraction of performance from the engine.

The Interior

Prepare to change your perception of Noble. The M15 is an irresistible place to sit, with tactile surfaces, the aroma of quality materials, comfort and all that important space.

That's not just in the cockpit. The M15 has 300 liters of luggage space divided between two compartments at the front and rear, making the M15 a practical daily driver.

An uncluttered dashboard highlights the vital information, the rev counter and speedo neatly housed in an integrated binnacle and the needle changes color as the revs soar.

Taking pride of place in the center console is the touch-screen Satellite Navigation system, a first for Noble and a true indication on the M15's true talents.

2006 Gumpert Apollo

The Gumpert Apollo is the perfect synthesis of a road vehicle and track car. It evokes passion and driving pleasure beyond all expectations. With 650 bhp, 224 mph top speed and acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in just 3 seconds, you would have to go a long way to find an alternative to Apollo. The complete package is available in a cost-benefit ratio that cannot be matched in this exclusive vehicle class. As a pure high-performance sports car with racing qualities that is also approved for use on the road, the Gumpert Apollo sets new standards.

An Exceptional Design

The silhouette of the Gumpert Apollo, which has been optimized upon numerous times after tests in the wind tunnel, reflects its above-average performance capability. In its profile, the Apollo's dynamic appearance is further enhanced by its dimensions and its streamlined, long and wide shoulder lines. The mid-engine layout is emphasized by the cockpit, which is clearly situated toward the front of the vehicle, and the long wheel base; both factors ensuring optimum driving qualities. Massive air inlets and outlets in the front, and on the side in front of and behind the doors, leave no doubt about its potency. They supply the two turbochargers and the high-performance braking system with enough fresh air to ensure that the car maintains optimum operation for the duration of the race.

Driving Dynamics Redefined

The Gumpert Apollo's suspension was developed to ideally complement the clever aerodynamics of the car body, resulting in unusual driving dynamics. The Apollo is taut but not hard and offers the driver and passenger an extraordinary high level of comfort despite being purely designed for performance. It demands the complete attention of the pilot but does not overwhelm him thanks to its ultra-precise and predictable driving characteristics even at top speed. An ideal weight balance of 42 to 58 percent between the front and rear axis rounds it off.

Proven Performance in a New Dimension

The impressive power of the high-performance eight cylinder engine is based on the proven V8 aggregates from Audi. This engine in standard configuration is optimized for use in racing and road vehicles and produces 650 bhp as a biturbo engine. With a weight of only 430 lbs, it plays a major role in ensuring the Apollo has an ideal weight and its fascinating driving dynamics.

Via the two exhaust gas turbochargers, the combustion chambers are force-fed fresh air that has previously been cooled to the ideal temperature in large intercoolers.

The sequential six-speed transmission, that incorporates Formula 1 know-how, guarantees the efficient implementation of the energy generated.

Purism and Luxury in the Interior

Low weight was the top priority and has been achieved by using high-tech materials. For instance both the monocoque and the integrated instrument panel are made of carbon-fiber.

The seat position is individually set for every customer with padding, upholstery, adjustable pedals, and the steering column. The Gumpert Apollo is a made-to-measure sports car and in line with this principle, customers can design the interior to meet their preferences, be it pure performance or somewhat more luxurious.

The air conditioning system guarantees the perfect interior temperature while traveling. The high-end navigation system with DVD-player and sound system helps you get from A to B and delivers in-car-entertainment. The backward facing camera integral to the system helps the driver when reversing or, as Gumpert says, simply shows him how quickly the overtaken cars disappear from view.

2006 Fisker Latigo CS

The Latigo CS evidences signature Fisker style, with details that can only be done by hand. "Hand craftsmanship is at the forefront of this coachbuild design. Overall, brilliantly balanced proportions lend a solid, unmistakable presence to the Fisker Latigo CS, while advanced aerodynamic sculpting creates a shape that is virtually invisible to the air.

Inside the Fisker Latigo CS you see the true art form of custom coachbuild craftsmanship. Interior fit and finish are distinctive. The touch of the finest materials can be felt everywhere. And sumptuous, hand-stitched leather surrounds. Fisker Coachbuild has partnered with Distinctive Industries, the American-based leather interior experts, to produce a high-performance, high-luxury environment that is deceptively spacious. Every technological feature remains intact, including the home-theater quality Logic7 audio system and the optional heads-up display.

The creature comforts of the base architecture are all still available - and then some. A myriad of hand-crafted upgrades creates a new level of luxury you'll be sure to notice.

2006 Citroen C-Metisse Concept

The elegant design lines of the C-Metisse, the latest out-of-this-world concept car from Citroen, will be unveiled at the 2006 Paris Motor Show. Exceptionally stylish and powerful, the C-Metisse proves that a high performance car can also be green, combining a top speed of 155 mph with the ability to cover around 45 miles per gallon on the combined cycle.

Crammed with hi-tech innovations and neat touches, the C-Metisse explores new paths in car design and driving pleasure. This model combines coupe styling with 4-door practicality thanks to the show-stopping gull-wing front and rear doors.

In particular, the C-Metisse has been developed to offer good environmental credentials. It boasts an economical HDi V6 diesel engine, coupled with an acclaimed Diesel Particulate Filter System, and two separate electric motors on the rear wheels, capable of developing a massive 295 lb-ft of additional torque. Around town the new concept car can even run in Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) mode.

With its unique and powerful style, this 4-seater, 4-door coupe is visually striking. It is also exceptionally low for a grand-tourer of its size, at just 48.4 inches high, which contrasts with its length of 184.9 inches and width of 78 inches. And with its long bonnet and virtually non-existent rear overhang, its design is classically Citroen.

Both outside and in, the C-Metisse takes styling to another level. The front doors open gull-wing style, while the rear doors spin round to provide good accessibility for a car of such a low height. The large, eye-catching alloy wheels have been specially designed, with central wheel nuts hinting at the model's sporting nature.

Once inside the 'aircraft-style cockpit', occupants are enveloped by the comfortable, individual white leather seats, and are surrounded by smart leather trim and aluminum inserts. Each of the passengers benefits from independent air conditioning controls, individual roof lighting and plenty of space.

Powering the front wheels is a 208 bhp V6 HDi diesel engine mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox, whilst a further two electric motors can drive the rear wheels. Providing an innovative 4-wheel drive capability, each of these motors can deliver up to 295 lb-ft of torque and 20 bhp.

The C-Metisse is focused on providing real driver pleasure and sets extremely high standards for out-of-town driving, as demonstrated by a stunning 0-62 mph acceleration time of just 6.2 seconds and impressive mid-range performance that sees this remarkable concept accelerate from 50-75 mph in 4.2 seconds.

Driving pleasure is increased by a 'boost' function, activated under heavy acceleration, which activates to provide the immediate torque required. This combines the torque of the combustion engine with that of the electric motors that drive the rear wheels to enhance performance without pushing up fuel consumption.

The diesel hybrid drivetrain comprises a pack of high voltage batteries to supply the electric motors. Placed in the centre of the vehicle, the pack is automatically recharged during deceleration phases. The drivetrain and braking control unit automatically manage the energy configuration: transition from 2 to 4-wheel drive, energy recovery and the recharging of batteries.

Particular attention has also been paid to reducing the weight of the vehicle so that it requires less power to run, uses smaller amounts of fuel and therefore emits fewer pollutants. The carbon-fiber body helps reduce the entire weight of the C-Metisse to just 1,400 kg, including batteries.

2006 Ariel Atom

Famous for innovative engineering, advanced design solutions and performance oriented vehicles, Ariel, founded in 1898, is one of the oldest names in British motoring history. From Brooklands race cars to the renowned motorcycles, Ariel represents a 100 year tradition of leading British automotive design. The Atom continues that tradition for the next century with one of the most exciting pieces of automotive design ever.

The Exposed tubular chassis puts the engineering on display. Form following function and engineering dictating aesthetics. Influenced by race cars, motorcycles and aircraft, the Atom was designed around driver and mechanical components - form following function and engineering dictating aesthetics - design with a purpose. With development from the ground up by Simon Saunders Automotive Design together with major suppliers Bilstein, Eibach, British Steel, Delphi, plus input from the country's leading engineers and journalists, the Ariel Atom has an absolutely unquestionable pedigree. Designed to the highest standard, including seat belt mounts, steering column safety, exhaust emissions and lighting.

Hand built in-house by Brammo Motorsports, every chassis has a guarantee of expertise that can only come from experience and a pride in producing only the highest quality product. Made from large diameter ERW and CDS steel tube, entirely welded by hand using MIG and TIG welding, then powder coated, each Atom chassis is just the beginning of an immediately visible attention and care to detail design and quality. The chassis is a work of art in itself.

Drivetrain

Introduced in 2004 on the Saturn ION Red Line, the Ecotec 2.0L SC (supercharged) also powers the 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Supercharged coupe. It is compact and lightweight, and its Eaton M62 supercharger adds 40 percent more power to the Ecotec 2.0L engine compared to a naturally aspirated version. The M62 supercharger utilizes a helical roots compressor and integral pressure control and produces a maximum of 12 psi of boost. The boosted intake flow exits into an all-new matched intake manifold with an integral air-to-liquid heat exchange intake charge cooler system.

Wheels

Brammo Motorsports, the official Atom distributor in the US, offers the highest quality racing wheels on the market today for use on the Atom. They offer two aluminum wheel styles in two color options from Team Dynamics Racing along with a magnesium wheel package from Dymag in the UK.

Racing

The US built Atom is designed exclusively for racing and open track days, and performs as a true racecar should. With extensive testing at the GM Proving Grounds along with suspension tuned by Koni and engines tuned by GM Performance, the Atom is built for speed on the track.

Brammo offers customers several options to configure their car anywhere from a fun trackday car to a hardcore racing weapon. Racing features include upgraded Alcon braking package, dry sump lubrication system, magnesium wheels, and carbon fiber front and rear wings.

Already approved for open lapping and NASA HPDE events, look for updates as Brammo attempts to get the Atom homologated for competitive racing events in the US.

Body

All Atom body panels are non-structural, hand-laminated composite panels of either fiberglass (standard) or carbon fiber (upgrade). Using Formula One laminating techniques, the Atom's composite panels are of world class quality and finish. These composite panels maintain the minimalist nature of the vehicle and provide a significant weight savings over conventional production body panels manufactured in steel or aluminum. For an even further weight savings (along with the aesthetic of the weave pattern!), customers have the option of upgrading to carbon fiber body panels. Weight reduction for a carbon body panel set is around 30% over the standard fiberglass panels.

2006 YES Roadster 3.2 Turbo

The second generation of YES! is larger and more individual than its predecessor and increases in comfort and safety leaving nothing to be desired. With the introduction of the YES! Roadster 3.2 in 2006, the Funke & Will AG in Grossenhain near Dresden/ Germany mark the start of the second generation of this unique sports car. The uncompromising vehicle was presented to the public for the first time at the international automobile show AMI in Leipzig in April of 2006. The overwhelmingly positive response from media, customers, experts and business partners reflects the great interest of the public in the puristic lightweight and proves once again the successful implementation of this concept, true to the motto: PURE DRIVING PLEASURE.

Due to the equally positive feedback from America, Funke & Will AG has extended distribution of the YES! Roadster 3.2 to North America this year. For this purpose the company has founded YES! North America Inc in 2006.

Car enthusiasts from all over the world, from New Zealand to the United States have expressed great interest in the individual two-seater with the unmistakable YES! design, as reflected by increasing sales. The design of the new YES! again shows the contours of the Stuttgart designer Oliver Schweizer. The striking features of the YES! sports car are retained in the wedge-shaped lateral contour and the racy front and rear fenders. The new generation, however, can be equipped with an optional hard top. The YES! can thus be transformed into a luxury coupe on cold days. The level of comfort was significantly raised in comparison with its predecessor. However extras such as heated seats and navigation system are available as option, because the weight of the sports car should be kept at a minimum. The interior of the new YES! was refined using high-quality materials and now, with the multi-media sound system, offers extraordinary sound enjoyment. In addition to the increased comfort, the new YES! has a longer wheel base and larger motor. The current model is equipped with a V6 Volkswagen motor. With its 255 hp, the 890 kg two-seater can accelerate to 60 m/h in just 4.8 seconds and gives you the driving pleasure typical of the YES!.

If that`s not enough for you, set your sights on the YES! Roadster 3.2 Turbo. With this turbo version, Funke & Will advance into the realm of super sports cars. Thanks to an exhaust gas turbocharger, the same original aggregate yields 355 hp, catapulting the driver of the merely 930 kg roadster to 60 m/h in just 3.8 seconds. A specially developed rear spoiler ensures the necessary contact pressure to keep the 355 hp safely on the road. The two thoroughbred sports cars with the attractive performance levels have been available since 2006 in other countries in all regions of the world such as New Zealand, Japan, Switzerland, United Kingdom, France and Spain, in addition to the local distribution partners in Germany. The domestic and international distribution network of Funke & Will AG has been continually built up and other competent partners will be added in the future. For this reason among others, the global vehicle manufacturer and DIN ISO certified engineering services provider Funke & Will AG is able to meet the high standards of YES! customers.

2006 Saleen S7 Twin Turbo

Saleen knows all about power. As in S281 Mustangs, N2O Focuses and the S7, America’s first (and still the only) mid-engine exotic supercar. When it went on sale in 2002, the S7 was the only street-legal car in the U.S. with more than 500 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque. The media and S7 owners have raved about the car since it first smoked the rear tires in anger. And it has been recognized by numerous automotive magazines as the fastest production car in the world. But during the past three years the automobile marketplace has witnessed an explosion of performance with models from manufacturers including Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Chevrolet touting power numbers above the once magic 500 level.

Saleen is not an organization content to rest on yesterday’s 0-60 mph times or quarter-mile speeds. So in 2005, it was “goodbye S7” and “all hail the S7 Twin Turbo!” This is the first major change to the S7 since its introduction, and it is a big change as in 750 horsepower and 700 lb-ft of torque, numbers the competition will be chasing for a long while we predict.

Unchanged From 2005

While there are a number of different roads Sal
een’s engine designers could have traveled down to achieve those high-altitude horsepower and torque figures, for this second edition of the S7 they decided to think beyond atmospheric. And because this is Saleen, they added a double twist to a tried and true racing technique for boosting power and torque: twin turbos.

Aerodynamics has also come under scrutiny in 2005. Unless you place the new S7 Twin Turbo next to one of the original 2002 models, you probably won’t notice that the 2005 version has a different diffuser/rear spoiler package and reshaped front fenders to enhance the S7s already sleek, swoopy and aerodynamic contours. To complement the Twin Turbo’s enhanced straight-line performance envelope the S7 chassis has also undergone a fair amount of tweaking. Virtually every suspension pickup point has been changed, and the suspension geometry has been modified for less squat and dive during acceleration and braking.

Engine & Drivetrain

Designed by Saleen engineers, the S7's engine and drivetrain incorporate the latest in modern racing technology. The new all-aluminum V8 engin
e casting was engineered and tooled by Saleen to displace seven liters. Redline is 6500 rpm. Space age materials and engineering are used throughout, including stainless steel valves, titanium retainers, beryllium exhaust valve seats, an aluminum throttle body, Saleen designed aluminum CNC-machined cylinder heads and stainless steel exhaust system. An exclusive Saleen-designed Front Engine Accessory Drive (FEAD) system results in an extremely compact engine, allowing for better packaging and overall weight distribution. The V8 incorporates a unique Saleen-designed side-mounted water pump, a belt-driven camshaft drive and a Saleen-engineered dry sump oil delivery system. The engine's mid-chassis placement optimizes weight distribution and center of gravity, making room for an unusually tall engine that allows for a very efficient induction system. Air enters a roof intake, passes through a 90-mm mass air meter and feeds into a carbon fiber plenum. From the plenum the air is route

d to the twin ball bearing turbos, is pressurized to 5.5 psi max and then passes through an oval-bore throttle body into an aluminum intake manifold with eight individual runners.

To feed juice to this setup, the injection system i
ncludes dual electric fuel pumps and high-capacity, return-less, 52 lb/hr fuel injectors. Neatly engineered and integrated into the S7’s stainless steel, dual, high-flow exhaust system are two, twin-ball-bearing, water-cooled Saleen-Garrett turbos, featuring 44-mm wastegates. The four exhaust

pipes from each bank of cylinders merge into a race-car-like high-efficiency collector. In addition, the exhaust incorporates dual catalysts per cylinder bank, EGR and those aforementioned twin wastegates. And because Saleen believes in power and clean air, the emission control system features dual, heated oxygen sensors per cylinder bank and a high-volume evaporative emission system along with those four catalysts. Oh, and for good measure and clean air, the system is OBD-II compliant.

And if you need any more proof of how Saleen engineers sweat the details, the stroke of the already short-stroke shifter has been furthered shortened for improved shifting feel. Say that five times fast, once for each gear change.

Chassis, Suspension & Brakes

The S7 chassis and suspension incorporate
decades of Saleen’s experience in racing, racecar construction and high-performance road car manufacturing. The Saleen S7 architecture begins with a space frame chassis to which honeycomb composite reinforcing is grafted. The body is structural, aerospace-quality, autoclave carbon fiber. Suspension is via fully independent unequal-length double wishbones with coilover springs, lightweight aluminum dampers (shock absorbers) and stabilizer (anti-roll) bars front and rear. The uprights at each corner are CNC machined billet aluminum, flow-through designs that use air to help cool the bearings.

Chassis tuning also includes revised shock valving front and rear. Saleen-engineered Brembo-supplied lightweight aluminum six-piston mono-block calipers are fitted front and rear.

Geometry changes, along with new tires, result in about a 30 percent increase in mechanical grip... which is substantial. In a seeming contradiction
to current performance tire practice, the 2006 S7 Twin Turbo is fitted with “taller” tires, 275/35 R19s up front and 335/30 R20s at the rear, replacing the 275/30 R19s and 345/25 R20s fitted to the normally aspirated S7. While the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires have higher aspect ratios, they also lay tire patches that are nearly an inch wider up front and almost 1.5 inches wider at the rear.

Exterior & Interior

The S7’s beautiful shape was “designed” by the wind. Optimal aerodynamics and top speed performance objectives were achieved with extensive wind tunnel work. Targets included a low coefficient of drag, optimum drag-to-lift ratio, an
d extreme down force. The S7 has “full tray” body sculpting underneath.

For the 2006 S7 Twin Turbo, the redesigned front and rear diffusers, along with the new rear spoiler, result in a 40 percent reduction in aero drag and a 60 percent increase in down force. Those of you who know anything about aero forces recognize the significance of that last statement. Typically, you would have to trade down force to reduce aero drag.

The mid-engine Saleen S7 has front and r
ear trunks and comes with Mulholland Brothers custom-made, 3-piece, fitted luggage. In true supercar style, the doors open up and away from the body.
Seats and other interior surfaces are covered in elegant leather and suede. Air conditioning, power windows, power door locks with remote keyless opening for the doors and both trunks, an electric-headed front windshield, variable intermittent windshield wipers, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and an AM/FM/CD/DVD/TV system are all standard. The Saleen S7 also has one unique interior feature: a video “rearview mirror” — there is a small video camera inconspicuously mounted in the rear of the car.
